Daily Blog for week commencing 20.6.2016

June 18 2016

Today started off miserable and wet. We both had a very poor nights sleep. Saffron is staying with us over night.
Brief visit from Graeme to tell us about the that's been done to his house.
Message from Grahame Soden about family connections
Saffron and I did a little bit of work in the garden.
Saffron left to go to a show with family.
Not much of a rest today, some shopping at Aldi, late dinner.
Cliff rang to tell us what he was doing today.
Just one more day to take anti biotic then hope I'll be feeling better.
No photos taken again today.

Only 2 weeks to go. then our 2 week holiday in out little caravan at Loch Lomond and then Dunbar. Then home for a few days before having a week in the Trough of Bowland. Trying to think what to do with the rest of the year after that.
Been very busy in the garden all day, (apart from a rest in the afternoon) while Val has been sorting the cupboards in the kitchen and making sure everything is ready for our holiday. Back garden looking good now, plants starting to flower and all tidied up.
Been very tired all week with a bad chest infection and emphysema getting worse, but anti biotic finished today, so hopefully will be feeling better tomorrow.

June 20 2016
We both had a bad night, Val's toothache and my nightmares.
Still feeling the bad effects of the anti biotic's. Val gone to do some shopping, I didn't feel like going out.
Man from housing ass. came to clear rubbish out of gutters, down pipes were blocked making a mess in the garden.
Plumber came about a disgusting smell in our bathroom, found the smell bt not where it was coming from. Dyno Rod coming tomorrow to check all the outside drains.
Not been feeling very well today, spent most of it in bed again, but was up at dinner time and ate a good dinner that Val had cooked.

                                                                    June 21 2016
Val was at Graeme's house to see Cormac about the work that's been done there, nearly all finished now. Dyno rod came to scan the inside of the outside sewerage pipes, found one of the pipes had moved at some time causing a small leak. So we hadn't been talking rubbish since January and hopefully they will soon get it fixed. Too hot to do much around the house or garden so just sat out on the decking till quite late.

                                                                   June 22 2016
Val went to Blyth to bring Cliff down to help me with washing and cleaning the caravan, All done and tidy ready for the Scottish holiday in a week and a half. Got the caravan wash waxed the found with the alterations done to Graeme's house my hose pipe wouldn't fit on any of the taps!! Nice friendly neighbour came to the rescue and lent us hers, saved the day nicely.

Occupational therapist came to discus the possibility of having a new shower and bathing seat fitted in the bathroom, says it could be about 10 months before it gets done, Pew long time to wait for a shower.  I was a bit tired after all that so went to bed for a rest in the afternoon, a bit too hot to rest properly. Had a nice dinner with some Hog roast sausages that the Fat Butcher had recommended, and very nice they were. Took Cliff home after dinner and just settled down for a quiet evening after that.
Thursday June 23rd. 2016

Lots of shopping done today, good job I'm feeling a lot better. Farm Foods first to get Pepsi Max, they sell it cheaper than anyone else, then to Aldi for general shopping and extras to take on holiday next week, don't want to be going round the shops much when we're on holiday. Took that lot home and unpacked it then went to North Shields, first to Peacocks, they seem to sell the most comfortable T-shirts and underwear. Then to Wrights on the fish quay,
they sell all the old fashioned sweets and the best bacon and ham anywhere in the North of England. We got two enormous bacon sandwiches and sat at the riverside for lunch. took Archie for a short walk on the sands, then home for a well earned rest and a quiet evening.

Friday June 24th 2016

Dropped Val at Graeme's house to finish packing the caravan ready for our holiday next week, while I went to the doctors for my regular INR blood check, last week the reading had been an alarming 3.9, because I was taking steroids and anti biotic, this week it has settled down to 2.2, best would be 2.5, so I don't need checking again for 4 weeks.
Very violent thunder storm in the evening with 3 inches deep of hail stones covering the garden.

Saturday June 25th 2016

Bit later than usual getting up. Val went to the farm shop for some bread and vegetables.
Very quiet morning, scanning photos on the computer. Not a very nice day, but after a rest in the afternoon, took Archie for a nice long walk, he expects this every day now.
