MONDAY

Waiting in the morning for news of the ferry arriving at north shields from Amsterdam, bringing cliff, petra and hazel from Frankfurt
Apparently it was delayed coming into the tyne because an oil rig was being moved, and then the customs control were doing thorough check so that meant more delay.
However they got here about 11.00am so there was a bit of time to get unpacked and chat before lunch time.

Tuesday

The usual shopping as asda in the morning. then in the evening I had a meal for 5 to cook. I’m a bit out of practice for cooking family meals.

Wednesday

It poured down most of Wednesday, so we were all mainly in the house all day.

friday

Hazels 7th birthday!
Great excitement in the morning as hazel opened all her presents after finding the dining room full of balloons.
Cliff, petra and hazel went swimming at the “wet and wild” in north shields and we met the later on the beach at blyth sands.
Later we went into the café and all had large helpings of ice cream. Followed by fish and chips to bring home.
Hazel had a very busy day and was well and truly tired when she went to bed.
Just after she went to bed there was a massive thunderstorm and some people doing maintenance work at the flats severed an electric cable and put the whole estate in darkness. Both cliff and I had been uploading stuff on the internet and had to start again later.
When power was restored it was found that all the heating and tv. Connections in the flats were burned out and nothing could be done till Monday. Fortunately it didn’t affect any of the bungalows.

Saturday

I wasn’t feeling very well today, bad headache, sore throught, feeling sick all day. So we just had a short drive to the supermarket and straight back home.
I think I slept most of the day after that.

Sunday

Everyone slept in this morning, and it’s rained on and off all day. Hazel watched dvd on the computer, cliff and gwen watched the grand prix .

Gwens black eye has nearly gone back to it’s normal colour and she is still making slow progress towards recovery. I don’t think she is looking foreword to having the other eye done.
